Another domino has fallen in the class of 2023. Elite quarterback
Eli Holstein announced his commitment to Nick Saban and Alabama on Tuesday, choosing the Crimson Tide over Florida, LSU, Stanford, Texas A&M, and a number of others. The
Zachary (La.) product, a top Tide target at the position, has been a frequent visitor to campus this year.
Holstein, a one-time Texas A&M commit, visited Alabama twice in March, again for A-Day, last season for a game, and camp last summer. He'll also be back in Tuscaloosa June 10-12, this time to help recruit and become the leader of Alabama's 2023 class.
Credit defensive coordinator Pete Golding leading the charge on this one, along with the offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien and Nick Saban.
"The coaching staff at every position, but especially the coaches that are involved in the quarterback room," Holstein told 247Sports' Steve Wiltfong after a recent visit. "Obviously Coach O'Brien but also Coach Dooley and Coach Mortensen. Having a great quarterback room with coaches like that go a long way for me. Also I'm sure it's everyone's favorite thing about Bama but they win championships and put guys in the NFL. The last three starters for Alabama are now starting in the NFL and then Bryce Young wins the Heisman his first year playing and he could be a top draft pick as well."
