Baseball Recap: Chelmsford's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home

Chelmsford has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.14 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Wednesday. They took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Concord-Carlisle Patriots. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Chelmsford got a good showing from Matthew Wilson, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Furthermore, Wilson didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April.

On the hitting side, Jack Keyo made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Aidan Brackett, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Chelmsford's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-8. As for Concord-Carlisle, their win ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-14.

Coincidentally, Chelmsford and Concord-Carlisle will both be playing Westford Academy the next time they take the field. The Lions will head out to face the Grey Ghosts at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Patriots will head out to face them at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
