Baseball Recap: West Ottawa's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

West Ottawa waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Grand Haven Buccaneers. That's more bragging rights for the Panthers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Collin Roelofs tossed a big game, tossing 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because West Ottawa is undefeated when he allows at most two walks, but 7-9 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Chase Gerlach, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. Another player making a difference was Cayden Ortega, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

West Ottawa's record is now 12-9. As for Grand Haven, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.
