San Andreas recap Nov. 7, 2012
The biggest upset of the week belonged to San Bernardino, who took down 770th ranked San Bernardino, 30-27.
Carter extended the longest winning streak in San Andreas this week by beating Arroyo Valley, 48-6. The victory was the 10th in a row for the team.
Robert Hampton was the best wideout in the league this week as Rialto fell to San Gorgonio. Hampton racked up five receptions for 99 yards. Willie Moore helped Rialto's passing attack out by catching five balls for 42 yards.
Javone Morgan provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Knights lost to the Spartans. He completed 18 passes for 201 yards and also ran for 39 yards.
Garnett Dowe put up the best numbers through the air as San Gorgonio beat Rialto. He finished with a total of 12 completions for 133 yards and two touchdowns. Dowe's favorite target this week was Isaiah Dunn, who caught three passes for 48 yards.
Paul Cortez was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 20 carries, he ran for 114 yards as Gavin Pachot's team lost to Ron Gueringer's team. Javiya Evans also contributed to the rushing game with 49 yards on the ground.
The Spartans' Tahir Rasheed-Mills and Nathan Meadors have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading San Andreas in both passing and receiving yards. Rasheed-Mills has thrown for 1297 yards this season, while Meadors, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 29 catches for 428 yards. The Knights' Cortez leads the league in rushing yards with 1342.
San Gorgonio's Rasheed-Mills needs only 88 yards against Tahquitz next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 105 carries Rasheed-Mills has accumulated 912 yard this year.
Pacific moved up to 888 from 948 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Pirates were able to make move up by topping the Cardinals 30-27.
