Basketball Recap: St. Thomas More Academy Snags Third Victory in Last Four Games

If Neuse Christian Academy wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played St. Thomas More Academy, they should've done a better job of containing John Paul Mack. The Chancellors blew past the Lions 65-43 on Tuesday thanks in part to Mack, who dropped a double-double with 30 points and 12 boards. He is becoming a predictor of St. Thomas More Academy's success: when he posts at least 25 points the team is 2-1 (and 2-3 when he doesn't).

Neuse Christian Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Carter Brown, who went 6-for-9 en route to 16 points, and Westin Tilley, who posted 12 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Caleb Davis, who had seven points.

St. Thomas More Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.8 points over those games. As for Neuse Christian Academy, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Looking ahead, St. Thomas More Academy will take on New Life Camp at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Neuse Christian Academy, they will face off against Raleigh Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
