Foothill and Brea Olinda are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2021, but likely not for long. The Knights will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wildcats at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Foothill sitting on three straight wins and Brea Olinda on 11.

Foothill had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 13-run drubbing they dealt Crean Lutheran on Monday. The Knights' pitchers stepped up to hand the Saints a 13-0 shutout. With that victory, the Knights brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

Capri Gallego looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Rodriguez Haley, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Abigail Lawson, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Foothill kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in eight consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Brea Olinda got the win against Crean Lutheran on Tuesday by a conclusive 15-4. Considering the Wildcats have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Brea Olinda's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Foothill, their win bumped their record up to 11-13.
