League recap: League standings in flux as Potts Camp jumps, Bruce drops

2A Region 2 league recap: 3/27/13

Potts Camp made the biggest jump in the standings this week, moving from fourth to first place in 2A Region 2 thanks to a 2-4 record over the past seven days. Meanwhile, Bruce fell hardest in the standings, dropping from first all the way to third place after going 0-2 in the past week.

Top honors in the league this week go to the Cardinals, which finished with two wins overall, good for best in the league.

Potts Camp boasted the best pitching over the past week, holding opponents to the league's fewest hits and issuing the fewest walks.

The Cardinals struck out a league-leading 70 times over the past week. The league's worst in that category with 70 strikeouts on the season are Potts Camp.

The league boasted three .400 hitters over the past week. Leading the pack was Drew Brigance, who hit .600 by going 6-for-10.



Hickory Flat's John Conlee led the league with seven hits this week. His 11 hits for the year are tenth in the league, and he boasts a .579 batting average.
