Covington has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Carroll Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Covington focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Friday.
Covington struggled with threes on Friday (Crawfordsville had five more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Covington ended up on the wrong side of a rough 67-45 walloping at the hands of Crawfordsville. Covington was down 53-33 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Covington's defeat came about despite a quality game from Coye Ferguson, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. Ferguson has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Kolten Haymaker was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, with a playoff game on the line, Carroll rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Oracles by a score of 68-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Covington dropped their record down to 10-13 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Carroll, their win bumped their record up to 15-9.
