Polytech faced Caesar Rodney in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Panthers' pitcher stepped up to hand the Riders a 4-0 shutout. That's more bragging rights for the Panthers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The result came thanks to Madison Frazier's shutout, as she gave up just five hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, Polytech's victory was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Keira Fendt, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Danica Humphries also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Polytech's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Caesar Rodney, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Polytech will host Delmarva Christian at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Caesar Rodney, they will face off against Lake Forest at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
