Softball Game Preview: Jac-Cen-Del Eagles vs. Edinburgh Lancers

The Jac-Cen-Del Eagles will head out to square off against the Edinburgh Lancers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Jac-Cen-Del has struggled recently with 13 losses in a row, while Edinburgh will arrive with four straight wins.

Jac-Cen-Del fell victim to South Ripley and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 11-0 to the Raiders. Surprisingly, this marked the Eagles' fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Meanwhile, Edinburgh gave up the first runs on Wednesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Eminence, sneaking past 6-4.

Kenna Streeval was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Streeval was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last nine matches.

In other batting news, Adalynn Ramey was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted over her last nine contests.

Edinburgh's record now sits at 12-8. As for Jac-Cen-Del, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-12.

Jac-Cen-Del suffered a grim 15-6 defeat to Edinburgh in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
