Basketball Recap: Louisa County Piles Up the Points Against Spotsylvania

There's no place like home for Louisa County, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They blew past the Spotsylvania Knights 66-39 on Monday. The Lions pushed the score to 59-26 by the end of the third, a deficit the Knights cut but never quite recovered from.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Louisa County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Peyton Brady, who to rack up 15 points in addition to seven steals and five assists. What's more, Brady posted three blocks, the most she's had since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Daphne Anderson, who scored 20 points along with five boards and four steals.

Brady wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Louisa County was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Louisa County pushed their record up to 12-9 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.7 points over those games. As for Spotsylvania, they are on an 18-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-18.

Louisa County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 69-37 loss against Patrick Henry on the 24th. As for Spotsylvania, they have also already played their next matchup, a 65-29 defeat against Mechanicsville on the 18th.
