Basketball Recap: Maclay Triumphs

Chiles came into Friday's matchup looking for another win against Maclay, but Lauren Guyer wouldn't allow it. The Maclay Marauders had just enough and edged the Chiles Timberwolves out 38-35 thanks in part to Guyer, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine boards. That's the most rebounds she has posted since back in January.

Chiles' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lainey Crisafulli, who posted 24 points and five rebounds. Crisafulli has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Ariana Knapp was another key player, putting up two points and 23 rebounds.

Maclay's record now sits at 7-2. As for Chiles, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-6.

Maclay wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 50-20 win against Taylor County on the 16th. The two teams will compete for holiday cheer at 6:30 p.m. on December 20th.
