Basketball Game Preview: Edgewood Cougars vs. Bellbrook Golden Eagles

Edgewood is 0-3 against Bellbrook since November of 2023 but things could change on Thursday. The Edgewood Cougars will face off against the Bellbrook Golden Eagles at 7:15 p.m.

Edgewood is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Tuesday. They fell 28-18 to Miamisburg.

Edgewood got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of Rylee Manning and Maddie Jones, who each put up six points. Sydney Schiff held things down on the boards with five rebounds. Kamdyn Buck took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Bellbrook took on Eaton on Saturday. Bellbrook blew past Eaton 68-26. The Golden Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 20 points or more this season.

Bellbrook pushed their record up to 10-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points per game. As for Edgewood, their loss dropped their record down to 1-10.

Edgewood took a serious blow against Bellbrook in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, falling 70-18. Can Edgewood avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
