Volleyball Recap: Person's Run of Three Straight Wins Now Over

Person lost against Orange back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Rockets fell 3-1 to the Panthers. While the Rockets didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Panthers 25-18 in the first set.

Person started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 27-25, 28-26, 25-20.

Peyton Hogan paced Person's offense, picking up 24 kills. Hogan were helped by Kylee Hayden and Kaiden Hawkins, who contributed 19 assists each. Hogan was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Leading Orange to victory were Addison Guentensberger and Gianna Negron. Guentensberger had 22 digs, while Negron had 11 digs. Those 11 digs gave Negron a new career-high.

The loss snapped Person's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-2 record. As for Orange, they pushed their record up to 2-2 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Person has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Garner on the 23rd. As for Orange, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Green Level on the 23rd.
