Soccer Game Preview: Chicago Academy vs. Northside

The Chicago Academy Cougars will head out to square off against the Northside Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Chicago Academy has given up an average of 2.6 goals per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Chicago Academy is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to seven goals on Monday, they were much more limited against Trinity on Tuesday. They came up short against the Blazers, falling 5-0.

Meanwhile, Northside's game on Friday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of Payton College Prep by a score of 1-0. Northside's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Northside's loss dropped their record down to 4-3-1. As for Chicago Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

Chicago Academy suffered a grim 8-1 defeat to Northside in their previous matchup back in March of 2023. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Cougars were down 6-1.
