Volleyball Recap: South Takes a Loss

South lost against East last Wednesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Bison fell just short of the Thunderbirds by a score of 3-2.

South took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 21-25, 22-25, 25-13, 15-7.

Makayla McLaury paced South's offense, picking up nine kills. McLaury got some help from Katelynn Brennan and her 23 assists. Vanessa Gonzalez controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

South has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 18 of their last 21 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-22 record this season. As for East, their record is now 18-16.

South does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for East, they have already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Sheridan on the 1st.
