Softball Recap: Silverdale Academy Snaps 25-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Silverdale Academy dropped their record down to 22-5-1 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's 25-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They fell just short of the Soddy Daisy Trojans by a score of 4-2. Surprisingly, this marked the Seahawks' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Allie Weber put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two hits in nine consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.

Weber wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jaliyah Whitaker, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

As for Soddy Daisy, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 20-12-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games.

On Soddy Daisy's side, Abby Pinson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits.

On the hitting side, Skylar Gooden was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

While Silverdale Academy had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
