Soccer Game Preview: Anderson vs. Shasta Charter Academy

The Anderson Cubs will square off against the Shasta Charter Academy Grizzlies at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Anderson turned things around against Redding Christian on Monday. Neither they nor the Lions could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw. The result (or lack thereof) marked Anderson's first draw of the season.

Lucca Rodrigues and Daniel Macedo-Gonzalez scored both of Anderson's goals, bringing their combined season tally to four goals.

Meanwhile, Shasta Charter Academy had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past Los Molinos 8-3 on Friday.

Anderson's draw gives them a new season record of 1-4-1. As for Shasta Charter Academy, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.

Anderson took their victory against Shasta Charter Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 6-2 score. Do the Cubs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Grizzlies turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
