Football Recap: Clairemont Takes a Loss

Clairemont fell victim to Canyon Hills and their airtight defense on Friday. They were dealt a 28-0 loss at the hands of the Rattlers. Having soared to a lofty 56 points in the game before, the Chieftains' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Canyon Hills found their leader in sophomore Makahi Fields-Cook, who rushed for 151 yards and one score on only 12 carries. Fields-Cook's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 121 rushing yards. Daniel Westhafer was in the mix as well, providing Canyon Hills with one touchdown.

Clairemont is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6. As for Canyon Hills, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Clairemont will challenge rival Coronado at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Canyon Hills is set to square off against their familiar foe Kearny at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
