PikeView took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against James Monroe, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. PikeView won by a run and slipped past James Monroe 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Panthers have posted since March 20, 2024.

Eli Naylor made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Naylor was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

In other batting news, Landon Wyatt was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024.

The win made it two in a row for PikeView and bumps their season record up to 2-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for James Monroe, their record is now 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. PikeView will venture away from home to square off against Castlewood at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for James Monroe, they will head out to face off against Summers County at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
