Softball Recap: Ashley Comes Up Short

Ashley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 14-1 to the Hoggard Vikings. That's two games in a row now that the Screaming Eagle have lost by exactly 13 runs.

Ashley's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Hoggard, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Ashley is taking a road trip to challenge Lumberton at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lumberton will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Ashley surely won't give up without a fight. As for Hoggard, they will venture away from home to take on Topsail at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
