Baseball Recap: Silverdale Academy Snags 12th Win in Last 16 Games

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Silverdale Academy and Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences, and Silverdale Academy kept the tradition alive. The Seahawks blew past the Patriots 17-2 on Monday. This was payback for the Seahawks, who suffered a 4-3 loss the last time these two teams met.

Drake Dills and Jonathan Hasty made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Dills pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Hasty tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Dills posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since April 4th. At the plate, Dills went 1-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Hasty went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That home run was Hasty's first of the season.

In other batting news, Silverdale Academy got a massive performance out of Tanner Bayne, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Voss, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Silverdale Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.4 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 9.4.

Silverdale Academy has been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 16 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 12-19.

Silverdale Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences, they will venture away from home to challenge Brainerd at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
