Basketball Game Preview: South Eugene Axe vs. North Medford Black Tornado

The South Eugene Axe will square off against the North Medford Black Tornado at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. South Eugene has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since January 7.

Last Tuesday, South Eugene was beaten by Willamette 68-20. While losing is never fun, the Axe can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 183rd, while the Wolverines are ranked fifth).

Meanwhile, North Medford was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 47-43 to Roseburg.

North Medford has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for South Eugene, their loss dropped their record down to 5-16.
