Softball Recap: Hoggard Comes Up Short

Hoggard and South View squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Hoggard had to settle for second. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2019.

Macey Ciamillo put in work while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over six innings pitched. Ciamillo was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Hoggard now has a losing record of 9-10. As for South View, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.

Hoggard does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for South View, they have already played their next matchup, a 3-2 defeat against D.H. Conley on the 8th.
