Basketball Recap: Eugenio Maria de Hostos Charter Takes a Loss

Eugenio Maria de Hostos Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Lima Christian Saints, falling 49-25. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 62-41 back in December of 2024.

Lima Christian found their leader in sophomore Alyssa Marsh, who posted 22 points and five steals. The match was Marsh's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Sophy Britton, who had six points and seven assists.

Eugenio Maria de Hostos Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Lima Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4.

When Eugenio Maria de Hostos Charter and Lima Christian next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Eugenio Maria de Hostos Charter will try to stop Young Women's College Prep's four-game winning streak when the meet on January 23rd. Similarly, Lima Christian will try to stop Honeoye's four-game winning streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
