Softball Recap: West Jordan Takes Down Salem Hills in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and West Jordan had no trouble coming through when it counted. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over the Salem Hills Skyhawks on Friday. The victory was nothing new for the Jaguars as they're now sitting on three straight.

Rita Tavita spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Arianna Fjeldsted, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Hailey Fox was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

West Jordan's win bumped their record up to 24-4. As for Salem Hills, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 27-6.

As of now, neither West Jordan nor the Skyhawks have any future games scheduled.
