Volleyball Recap: West Point Comes Up Short

West Point was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bayside Academy Admirals. The Warriors were not able to make up for their loss to the Admirals from their previous meeting back in October of 2020.

Bayside Academy found their leader in freshman Ansley Weller, who had 16 digs. Those 16 digs set a new season-high mark for Weller. Farrah Lane also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

West Point's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Bayside Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-5.

Looking ahead, West Point will head out on the road to take on Cullman at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bayside Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Prattville on the 30th.
