After a string of eight wins, Pioneer's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell 3-1 to the Lincoln Lions. The Mustangs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lions earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-13, 20-25, 25-17.

Pioneer lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Ella Rhyasen, who had 61 assists and 18 digs. She is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 14 or more in each of the last seven games she's played. Another player making a difference was Eva Rhyasen, who had six digs and three aces.

Pioneer's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 10-8. As for Lincoln, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-7.

Pioneer has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Alisal on the 11th. As for the Lions, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against the Mustangs on the 11th.
