Football Recap: Nativity BVM Takes a Loss

Nativity BVM extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 4-6. They had to suffer through a 41-14 loss at the hands of Marian Catholic. The Green Wave were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-0.

As for Marian Catholic, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Marian Catholic to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rory Dixon, who rushed for 194 yards and one touchdown while picking up 10.2 yards per carry. Dixon's longest rush was for an incredible 92 yards. Another pass catcher making a difference was Tyler Price, who gained 121 total yards and two touchdowns.

Nativity BVM and Marian Catholic are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Green Wave will venture away from home to square off against Lackawanna Trail at 7:00 p.m. on the 31st. Nativity BVM will need to watch out since the Lions have now posted at least 31 points in their last five games. As for Marian Catholic, they will be playing at home against Tri-Valley at 7:00 p.m. on the 31st. The Bulldogs' defense has only allowed 11.9 points per game this season, so Marian Catholic's offense will have their work cut out for them.
