Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Signal Mountain). Everything went their way against the Sand Rock Wildcats on Monday as the Signal Mountain Eagles made off with a 71-51 victory. The win was all the more spectacular given the Eagles' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 272nd in Tennessee, while the Wildcats are ranked 106th in Alabama).

The victory snapped Signal Mountain's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 3-9 record. As for Sand Rock, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Sand Rock beat Signal Mountain by a score of 39-36 on Tuesday.
