It was a good run, but Goshen Central unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Valley Central Vikings by a score of 5-4. The Gladiators were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Vikings earlier this season, when they won 6-3.

Addison Freiberger spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Anna Mayo made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Goshen Central's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Valley Central, their victory bumped their record up to 7-5.

Coming up, Goshen Central will square off against Burke Catholic at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Valley Central, they will face off against Warwick at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Vikings 3.9, the Wildcats 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
