Soccer Game Preview: Jay vs. MacArthur

The Jay Mustangs will square off against the MacArthur Brahmas at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. MacArthur took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Jay, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Jay turned things around against South San Antonio on Tuesday. They never let the Bobcats get on the board and left with a 6-0 win. Jay might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, MacArthur was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to Southwest. While losing is never fun, MacArthur can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 652nd, while Southwest are ranked 54th).

MacArthur's loss dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Jay, they now have a winning record of 9-8-1.

Jay got the 'W' when the teams last played back in January against MacArthur by a conclusive 4-0 score. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Brahmas have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
