Basketball Recap: Florence Comes Up Short

Florence played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Aspen Skiers and fell 60-19. The Huskies were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-5.

Florence's loss came despite strong showings from Jaret Lozano and Jj Baker. Lozano posted 11 points, while Baker had two points.

Florence's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-2. As for Aspen, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

When Florence and Aspen next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Florence will try to stop Buena Vista's three-game winning streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025. Florence is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.8 points per game this season. Similarly, Aspen will try to stop Peak to Peak's four-game winning streak when the meet at 4:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
