Basketball Game Preview: Giddings Buffaloes vs. Caldwell Hornets

The Giddings Buffaloes are taking a road trip to square off against the Caldwell Hornets at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Giddings has now lost 11 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 5.

Giddings is headed into the contest having just suffered their closest defeat since January 5, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Bellville by a score of 45-43.

Meanwhile, Caldwell played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 83-44 loss at the hands of La Grange. The Hornets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-23.

Giddings' loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Caldwell, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-13 record this season.

Giddings came up short against Caldwell in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 49-41. Can Giddings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
