Basketball Preview: Battiest Panthers vs. Eagletown Eagles
Battiest has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Eagletown Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Battiest stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They blew past Clayton, posting a 68-34 victory at home.
Meanwhile, Eagletown beat the Braves 58-48 on Monday. The win was just what Eagletown needed coming off of a 82-38 loss in their prior contest.
Battiest pushed their record up to 14-7 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points per game. As for Eagletown, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Battiest against the Eagles in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 83-29 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Battiest since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
