Softball Recap: Kermit Comes Up Short

Kermit was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They came up short against the Levelland Lobos, falling 16-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lobos this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-2 last Friday.

Kermit saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hiedi Salinas, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI.

Even though they lost, Kermit was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .529. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .500 or higher in three consecutive matches.

Kermit's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Levelland, their victory bumped their record up to 8-0-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kermit will face off against McCamey at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Levelland, they will host Muleshoe at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Muleshoe is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12.4 runs per game this season.
