Hondo won against Falfurrias on Thursday with five runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Owls didn't even let the Randolph Ro-Hawks on the board, marking the Owls' second-straight 5-0 shutout. The win was nothing new for the Owls as they're now sitting on six straight.

The result came thanks to Derek Elizondo's shutout, as he gave up just five hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

Hondo kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive games.

Hondo's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-5-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for Randolph, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Hondo beat Randolph by a score of 5-2 on Saturday.
