Basketball Game Preview: Abraham Lincoln Railsplitters vs. Audenried

The Abraham Lincoln Railsplitters are taking a road trip to challenge Audenried at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Abraham Lincoln has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 189 points over their last three matches.

On Tuesday, Abraham Lincoln came up short against Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech and fell 72-60.

Despite the defeat, Abraham Lincoln saw an underclassman step up: freshman Jayden Ortiz-Muhammad posted 18 points. Those 18 points gave Ortiz-Muhammad a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Chris Barr, who had ten points.

Meanwhile, Audenried lost to Imhotep Charter on the road by a 54-37 margin on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Audenried can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 229th, while Imhotep Charter is ranked 17th).

Audenried's loss dropped their record down to 6-10-1. As for Abraham Lincoln, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.

Abraham Lincoln beat Audenried 90-77 when the teams last played back in January of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Abraham Lincoln since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
