Football Recap: Monterey Trail Skates Past Cosumnes Oaks with Ease

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Monterey Trail's strategy against Cosumnes Oaks on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Mustangs blew the Wolfpack out of the water with a 52-0 final score. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 121st, while the Wolfpack are ranked 642nd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Monterey Trail was led to victory by Kaden Love and Odie Jefferson. Love rushed for 45 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while Jefferson rushed for 59 yards and two TDs on only six carries. What's more, Love posted two rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in August. Terron Robinson also helped with two scores in total.

Monterey Trail is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 37.5 points over those games. As for Cosumnes Oaks, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-7.
