Basketball Recap: Central Catholic's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

It was a good run, but Central Catholic unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Friday. They took a hard 57-43 fall against the Upper St. Clair Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while the Panthers are ranked seventh).

Central Catholic's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-4. As for Upper St. Clair, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 15-1.

Central Catholic will head out on the road to take on Mt. Lebanon at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Upper St. Clair, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Canon-McMillan at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Upper St. Clair's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while Canon-McMillan has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
