Recap: Jay County Patriots vs. Delta Eagles
With a playoff game on the line, the Jay County Patriots rose to the challenge on Friday. They took down the Eagles 53-35. Winning may never get old, but Jay County sure is getting used to it with their 20th in a row.
Jay County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sophia Saxman, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Saxman has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Molly Muhlenkamp, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Despite the defeat, Delta had strong showings from Griffyn Knight, who scored 23 points along with three steals, and Jillian Barr, who scored seven points along with ten rebounds and five blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Knight has scored all season.
Jay County's victory bumped their record up to 22-2. As for Delta, they now have a losing record at 11-12.
Jay County won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Hamilton Heights at 7:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Hamilton Heights will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something Jay County surely won't give up without a fight. Delta does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
