Softball Recap: Altoona Mountain Lions vs. Cumberland Valley Eagles

Altoona was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They lost 17-1 to the Cumberland Valley Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-1 on Tuesday.

Altoona saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mary Worley, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Altoona's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Cumberland Valley, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Altoona will square off against rival Chambersburg at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Cumberland Valley is set to face off against their familiar foe Central Dauphin at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Eagles 2.5, the Rams 1.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
