Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Turner). They blew past the Whitewater Whippets 18-2 on Friday. The Trojans are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 14 straight.
Maddyn Saunders was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Saunders was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Autumn Meris was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Genna Brown, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Turner always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Whitewater only posted an OBP of .263.
Turner's victory was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-2. As for Whitewater, their loss dropped their record down to 13-8.
The future could be bright for both Turner and Whitewater: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. The Trojans will try to hand Edgerton their 12th-straight defeat when the two meet at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Whitewater will look to extend Cambridge's eight-game losing streak when they meet at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
