Softball Recap: West Delaware's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Wapsie Valley typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday West Delaware proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 8-3. The victory was familiar territory for the Hawks, who have now won three matches in a row.

West Delaware's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-5. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Wapsie Valley, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Delaware will face off against Independence at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Hawks are facing the Mustangs at the right time seeing as the Mustangs are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Wapsie Valley, they will take on Sumner-Fredericksburg at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
