Softball Recap: Cabrini Comes Up Short

Cabrini's last matchup with Sumner could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Friday. The Cabrini Crescents came up short against the Sumner Cowboys, falling 22-12. The Crescents were not able to make up for their defeat to the Cowboys from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Lindsey Thibodeaux stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she scored four runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Ashley Normand, who scored three runs and stole four bases while going 3-for-4.

This is the second loss in a row for Cabrini and nudges their season record down to 1-2. As for Sumner, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.

Looking ahead, Cabrini will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Belle Chasse at 5:30 p.m. on March 7th. As for Sumner, they will take on St. Thomas Aquinas at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
