Basketball Recap: Rantoul Comes Up Short

Rantoul was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 73-32 defeat at the hands of the Bloomington Central Catholic Saints. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-16.

Bloomington Central Catholic found their leader in freshman Karissa Cook, who went 9 of 12 en route to 21 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. Cook also set a new season-high mark in field goal percentage with 75%. Emme Hurie was another key player, putting up six points along with seven assists and six boards.

Rantoul's record is now 4-24. As for Bloomington Central Catholic, they pushed their record up to 21-8 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Coming up, Rantoul will venture away from home to face off against Centennial at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Bloomington Central Catholic, they will square off against Eureka at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
