Basketball Recap: Onaway Comes Up Short

Onaway was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 69-29 loss at the hands of the East Jordan Red Devils. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Red Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 76-14 back in January.

Ellis Malpass was the offensive standout of the game as he en route to 14 points and six boards. He is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last eight games he's played. Korbyn Russell was another key player, to rack up 12 points.

Onaway's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for East Jordan, the win (which was their 15th in a row) raised their record to 18-3.

Onaway has already played their next matchup, a 70-39 victory against Pellston on the 20th. As for East Jordan, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 57-46 loss against Harbor Springs on the 20th.
