League recap: Trinity Presbyterian paces 3A Area 5 with three wins over past week

3A Area 5 league recap: 3/20/13

Top honors in the league this week go to Trinity Presbyterian, which finished with three wins overall, good for best in the league. The Wildcats beat Montgomery Catholic 2-1 and St. James 4-0.

First place in 3A Area 5 standings is up for grabs this week, as Thorsby sits just 0.5 games back of Comer.

Trinity Presbyterian's pitching staff had a strong showing this week, allowing only 15 hits and seven walks, both of which led the league.

The most RBI in the league this week belonged to the Wildcats' Will Holland, who drove in four. For the year, he has racked up nine RBIs, good for second in the league.



The week's strikeout crown belonged to Zach Reid, who turned in seven Ks for Trinity Presbyterian. He's first in the league with 21 total strikeouts.
