Recap: Trinity Catholic Celtics vs. Bradford Tornadoes
The Trinity Catholic Celtics waltzed into their matchup Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They were the clear victor by a 63-41 margin over Bradford. Given Trinity Catholic's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 27th, while Bradford is ranked 179th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Trinity Catholic's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aariana Rose Gravel-holtzclaw, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Gravel-holtzclaw has scored at least 25% of Trinity Catholic's points. Another player making a difference was Alessa Washington, who scored 17 points.
Trinity Catholic pushed their record up to 6-1 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Bradford, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.
Trinity Catholic will head out on the road to face off against Fleming Island at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bradford will be home for the holidays to greet ED White at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. ED White is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
