Basketball Game Preview: Brevard Blue Devils vs. Hendersonville Bearcats

Brevard hasn't had much luck against Hendersonville recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Brevard Blue Devils just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Hendersonville Bearcats at 8:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

On Thursday, Brevard escaped with a win against Patton by the margin of a single free throw, 66-65. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Blue Devils.

Meanwhile, Hendersonville strolled past North Henderson with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 76-60. The Bearcats pushed the score to 61-40 by the end of the third, a deficit the Knights cut but never quite recovered from.

Hendersonville's win came from a few key players Brevard will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Caden Thomas, who went 7 for 10 en route to 14 points and three steals. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Jaron Ward was another key player, going 5 of 7 on his way to 14 points and three steals.

Hendersonville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Henderson only pulled down five offensive boards.

Brevard's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Hendersonville, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6.

Brevard came up short against Hendersonville when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 63-58. Can Brevard avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
